The interactions between the national data protection supervisory authority and the supervisory administrations and/or other institutions are indicative of its degree of independence and its capacity for viability. For African States, these questions of independence and viability of national supervisory authorities are crucial in this environment where the separation of state bodies is very often reduced to its simplest expression. This book demonstrates the criteria of convergence and homogeneity by which African States and legislations can self-imitate to improve themselves. The book presents the treasures of imagination deployed by African legislations with regard to, in particular, the methods of establishing authorities, the procedures for constituting umbrella bodies, access to resources and their use, the missions and powers exercised, the sanctions to be imposed by their national control authorities.
